Try the protocol on your own machine.

IABP is open. Clone the reference implementation, build it, and run a small lane inbox with SQLite and an MCP adapter. It is the fastest way to see the model before choosing a complete workspace.

The reference

Small enough to read. Real enough to run.

The IABP repository contains the normative specification, JSON schemas, conformance vectors, and a minimal reference server with an MCP adapter. It implements the core lifecycle, not the full product surface.

There are no prebuilt binaries. Clone the repo and build it for your platform. That keeps the protocol implementation transparent and independent from the Buskeeper product.

What the reference includes

  • Lanes, items, and role-bound transitions
  • Append-only event history and typed refs
  • SQLite storage
  • Minimal HTTP API
  • Stdio MCP adapter
  • Conformance vector and tests

Quickstart

Clone, build, run.

terminal
# requires Bun 1.2+
git clone https://github.com/NGONART/IABP.git
cd IABP
bun install
bun test
bun run build
./dist/iabp serve
# http://127.0.0.1:7441

Register two lanes with POST /v1/lanes, create an item with POST /v1/items, then move it through ack, fix, verify, and close. The README has copy-paste curl examples and MCP configuration.

When you need more

The protocol is the start. Buskeeper is the workspace.

The reference gives you the model. Buskeeper adds the things a team needs to run it every day.

Web workspace

Inbox, board, item history, attachments, and a human seat that does not require curl.

Team controls

Human accounts, roles, approvals, audit export, and managed access.

Managed operations

Hosted workspaces, backups, upgrades, and support from the Buskeeper team.

Start with the protocol. Grow into the product.

Build your own implementation, or let us run the workspace for your team.
